1. Take Breaks
Skipping breaks is a sure-fire way to burn out fast. Just remember, taking breaks doesn’t mean you can check Facebook every 10 minutes. You’re better off scheduling a 20-minute break for every two hours of work. You can then browse the net, catch up on the latest news stories at Mid Day Daily, or go for a walk.
You may have heard of the Pomodoro Technique. This is mainly aimed at writers but could also be adopted by others who do highly focused tasks, such as coding. This process involves working on a task for 25 minutes and then taking a 5-minute break. You need to complete four of these cycles (two hours) before you can take an extended break.
2. Step Up An Ideal Workstation
You want your work zone to be distraction free. Try and find a quiet area where no one will disturb you. You may also want adequate natural light so that you don’t feel like you’re working in a dungeon.

4. Alternate Sitting And Standing
If you’re sitting for too long and start to feel drowsy, then try working while standing. If possible purchase a standing desk, otherwise find a sturdy box to elevate your computer.
5. Make A Schedule The Night Before
You want to wake up with a foggy head and then try and accomplish the day’s tasks. That’s why it’s better to plan out your day the night before. Imagine you’re a commander going into battle the next day. You want everything you’re going to achieve laid out in front of you when you awaken.
6. Switch Tasks
If you’re trying to grind away at a dull task but simply can’t stay focused then put it on the backburner and move on to something different. This doesn’t mean you should spend all day shuffling around your workload. However, sometimes you need to give your mind a rest from a particular job and then return to it when you feel more inspired.
