With Christmas just around the corner it is time that we start turning our attentions to presents for our friends and loved ones. I have always felt that the best way to buy a great gift was to understand what kind of things that person likes, and then buy something which I know will get used. I hate token gifts, the type that clutter up people’s closets and put them in a position where they need to keep something which has little use to them.

With this in mind, I wanted to talk a little today about some great gift ideas which you can buy for the lady who travels. As a woman who has racked up my fair share of miles around  the world, I am a good person to offer advice on this subject. Let’s take a look at some of the top ideas.

Scarf

This may sound like a simple gift but I can tell you that throughout all of my years of traveling the world, my scarf was probably my most used item. The beauty of a scarf is in its multi functionality, you can use it to keep warm, as a pillow, for fashion purposes, to protect your face from blowing sand or even to cover up your hair for cultural reasons. Buy a nice looking and well made scarf, and your loved one will be overjoyed.

Scratch Map

Someone bought me a scratch map a couple of years ago and it has been one of the best gifts that I have ever received. Basically this is a poster of a map of the world where every country has been colored with metallic paint, like a scratchcard. The idea is that you scratch off whichever countries you have visited and it is a really great way to see where you have been, and most importantly, where you still have left to go.

 Mobile Wifi

Travelers rely very heavily on wifi and this is not something that is guaranteed, depending on where in the world you go. A portable movie wifi device however, uses the mobile data in a specific area and beams it out as internet signal to which you can connect your laptop or tablet. I was forced to buy one of these myself and I use it almost every time that I go away, nobody bought it for me as a gift, but I can say that if you do, your recipient will be very happy.

GoPro

If you are really looking to splash out on a gift, a GoPro camera would be the perfect present for the traveling lady. We all know how much us girls love to take photos and videos and with this GoPro camera, you will be giving an amazing present. The GoPro is super sturdy, very compact and light and even comes in some fetching pinks and purples. The reason this camera is so popular is thanks to its simple design, ease of use and its durability, it is almost unbreakable!
